TrendWatch Fast Fact: Plasma Display InvestmentsPlanned investments in plasma displays peaked a year ago

Fact: 13% of U.S. studios/facilities plan to buy one or more plasma displays in 2005 - down from 16% a year ago.
Why should you care?
Two size categories stand out -- displays under 40" and 41" to 50" displays -- as the top two groups, each with 5% of the buyers. TrendWatch survey data show this category peaked a year ago where 16% of all studios/facilities planned to buy and the top size category was 41" to 50" with 9% planning to buy one or more. 17% of the post production studios and animation/FX studios plan to buy plasma displays in 2005. In case you're curious, size matters more than display area -- 38% of studios with 20 - 49 employees plan to buy plasmas this year.
