Fact: Nearly three out of four studios spend less than 10% of their weekly production time on 3D.

Why should you care?
Given the impact 3D has in the entertainment world, it would be easy to assume studios would be spending much more time working on 3D tasks. The reality is that most studios do not do much 3D and those who do, don't do it all the time. 3D scanning and modeling take up less than 10% of a typical pipeline's production in a week. Also, 3D simulations and games take up about the same amount of time. Among FX/animation studios, only one in ten spend 75% of their production time doing 3D animation work.
