Transpera Supports iPad With Highest Performing Mobile Video Brand AdvertisingHigh Quality Video on Larger Screen Is Good News for Marketers, Publishers and Developers (January 28, 2010)
SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/28/10 -- Transpera, the largest mobile video delivery and ad network in North America, today announced its ability to deliver video advertising and video content for the newly announced iPad device.
"Let me show you video, it looks wonderful," Steve Jobs, Apple's founder, said while showing HD playback video on the new device. Marketers, from film studios to game publishers and beyond, can use the same high-quality HD video on the iPad's larger screen to deliver impactful advertising.
The announcement of the iPad is great news for marketers, as the sleek, portable device offers consumers a viewing experience that rivals a laptop with the intimacy and relevancy of the mobile phone. Like other devices supported by Transpera, including the iPhone, Android and other smartphones, the iPad can deliver Transpera's "Peek" pre-roll and post-roll video units, as well as Clickable interactive video ad units. The Clickable pre-roll, for example, will allow the iPad consumer to interact directly with mobile video advertisements, directing the user to an advertiser's branded mobile destination or other appropriate calls-to-action, such as Apple's App Store, depending on the goals of a particular ad campaign. Ad functionality and targeting options like content type, geo-location and demographics are controlled and managed by Transpera's Ad Platform.
Video ad units on Transpera's Advertising Network fetch some of the highest CPMs. All of the existing iPhone apps for which Transpera powers video ad capabilities will work on iPad. Transpera already powers video advertising capabilities on iPhone Apps, for publishers such as CBS News, MTV Networks, Msnbc.com, SHOWTIME®, Travel Channel, etc. Developers building new apps specifically for the iPad can easily integrate Transpera's Advertising Platform, to effectively monetize the app with video ad campaigns. Transpera supports the new iPad Apple SDK and has added new video encoding profiles specifically for the device such as HD video.
One of Transpera's fastest growing partners, the game publishers, stand to benefit from the iPad. Just as games will improve with additional screen real estate, ads like the loading screen video and between-level video will become more popular.
"We've been doing R&D in preparation for portable devices to support HD video," said Frank Barbieri, CEO and founder of Transpera. "We're ready now, not to just support the iPad, but to create the highest quality ads specifically for the device. These new video ads are compelling for advertisers, as they allow deeper audience engagement, and will allow publishers to fetch an even higher CPM."
