TransMedia Introduces Glide Effortless(April 18, 2005)
TransMedia, the leading provider of integrated and compatible online media and information management and communication solutions, announced today the release of GLIDE(TM) Effortless, an innovative solution application that consolidates and simplifies your digital life, at the National Association of Broadcaster (NAB) 2005 convention (Booth # SL4906) in Las Vegas. Glide provides 10 essential digital environments integrated into one browser based application that is easy to learn and easy to use. Once you have learned one environment, you have learned them all. Glide has 5 media browse environments including Glide Photo, Glide Video, Glide Music, Glide Docs and Glide AllMedia; 3 digital information management environments including Glide Contact, Glide Calendar and Glide Timeline; and 2 communication environments including Glide Mail and Glide Cast.
By supporting non-linear user impulses and actions, Glide enables its users to effortlessly navigate the digital world in very much the way you communicate, share, travel, learn, work and play in your daily life. Through breakthrough product architecture and user interface design, Glide makes it possible to browse photos, video, music, documents, contacts, calendars, conferences and more in a single, consistent and unified environment. Glide also replaces many of your single purpose software applications and removes barriers between different media file types, creating compatibility between users. Glide supports virtually all browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari and there is no software installation or configuration necessary to experience and share media.
Glide also provides powerful and flexible security when you share media and communicate. Your photos, video, music, documents, music playlists, slideshows, video playlists, doclists and all media playlists are automatically made available to those you share with based on the security parameters you set. Share your media based on the rights you grant to others. Your security options include providing streaming preview and file download access, streaming preview only access (e.g. streaming images), setting limits on the number of streaming previews and/or file downloads allowed, password protection and expiration of preview and download access by date and time. Users will be able to keep track of who is watching their video clips or listening to their music, including the number of times these files have been previewed and downloaded by a specific user.
"Glide signifies the emergence of integrated multipurpose software and services delivered in an easy to use consistent interface, which allows you to simplify and consolidate your digital life as well as save time and money," said Donald Leka, Chairman and CEO of TransMedia. "This technology breaks through the complexity barrier and makes possible the establishment of a new standard for software development. With Glide, there are no barriers, only the limitations of your imagination."
