Toshiba has released a new digital projector, the TDP-S3, a portable model featuring adjustable brightness controls, native SVGA resolution and estimated street price of $2,999. The TDP-S3 weighs less than six pounds but is modular so that it can be set up as a conference room projector with an optional expansion module.

The TDP-S3 includes Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processing technology; variable brightness settings (2000 or 1600 lumens); operation at less than 39 dB; Digital Keystone Correction; Native SVGA (800 x 600) resolution; 400:1 contrast ratio; a built-in 3-Watt audio system; a wireless remote; and Faroudja DCDi (Directional Correlational De-Interlacing) technology.

The expansion module provides enhanced connectivity options, including DVD player, video sources, HDTV, digital camera, DV camcorders and game consoles, dual computer inputs and RS-232. Without the module, the TDP-S3 offers data compatibility with VGA, SVGA, Macintosh and 1080i/720p HDTV, as well as video compatibility with NTSC, PAL, SECAM, PAL-M and PAL-N signals.

The TDP-S3 is available now for $2,999. The expansion module is available for $499. For more information, visit
