Toshiba Ships PDR-T10 Digital Camera

New 'button-free' model includes touch-screen LCD By Dave Nagel
Toshiba today started shipping its new PDR-T10, a digital camera that uses a touch-screen LCD display rather than buttons. The new model is targeted mainly toward consumers and offers a 2 megapixel resolution and interchangeable, snap-on faceplates. Two faceplates come with the camera, with eight more available separately.

The PDR-T10 is fully automatic and offers a 2.0 megapixel CCD sensor that captures images at resolutions up to 1,600 x 1,200 at three quality levels. It has an all-glass lens that is equivalent to f=38 mm on a 35 mm camera. Other features include:

  • Macro mode that allows picture taking as close as 3.5 inches from the subject;
  • 4x digital zoom;
  • User-selectable white balance;
  • Exposure control and flash;
  • USB interface;
  • Compatibility with Secure Digital storage media.

The camera ships with an 8 MB SD card. It includes a 1.6-inch LCD with a stylus and supports Macintosh and Windows. It measures 3.36" x 2.83" x 1.1" and sells for $399. For more information, visit
