SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) ' The National Weather Service says three tornados were spawned by a storm system drenching Florida's Atlantic coast.
The tornados touched down in central and South Florida late Tuesday. No serious injuries were reported.
One tornado with 120-mph winds left a 2-mile long trail of damage in Broward County. Up to 50 homes were damaged in a debris field roughly a quarter-mile wide.
In Martin County, a tornado with winds up to 85 mph shook siding and roof shingles off a house, destroyed a barn on the property and blew out the roof and back wall from the VFW post next door.
In Indian River County, a tornado with 65-mph winds caused major damage to one unoccupied home and blew down a metal storage shed.
