Toolfarm.com Updates ColorTheory and ColorTheory DV version 1.2(July 27, 2001)
ColorTheory 1.2 includes updated carbonized support for the Macintosh OS X operating system. ColorTheory DV 1.2 also sports an updated Adobe After Effects plug-in that is fully supported in Apple's Final Cut Pro, Pinnacle Systems' Commotion, Discreet Combustion, and Avid Media Composer (when used with the Elastic Gasket). ColorTheory DV 1.2 also includes six brand new Adobe After Effects plug-ins; CT ColorCorrect, CT ColorSwatch, CT Location, CT Dial, CT Slider, and CT Checkbox.
CT ColorCorrect is an HLS color corrector that uses Red, Yellow, and Blue primaries to control the Hue. The CT ColorSwatch plug-in gives Adobe® After Effects artists the ability to tie ColorTheory DV generated color schemes to Expressions for global changes to a color scheme. The remaining plug-ins contain null effect parameters so AE5 users can tie expressions to parent sliders, dials, location points, and checkboxes.
Owners of previous versions can download the update to ColorTheory 1.2 or ColorTheory DV 1.2 from the Toolfarm website free of charge. To download a demo version which includes free fully functional version of CT ColorSwatch, CT Location, CT Dial, CT Slider, and CT Checkbox, or view a video overview of ColorTheory, please visit: http://www.toolfarm.com/ct_training
ColorTheory allows artists to work in a RYB model on an RGB computer monitor. ColorTheory will help graphic designers determine CMYK or Pantone color combination while ColorTheory DV allows broadcast designers to preview color combinations directly on their NTSC/PAL monitor. The ability to import images with alpha channels enables every artist to see color schemes in combination with their own artwork.
ColorTheory 1.2, a standalone application and Photoshop plug-in has a list price of $149. ColorTheory DV 1.2 includes a standalone application, the Photoshop plug-in as well as an After Effects plug-in with the capability to preview on NTSC/PAL monitors. ColorTheory DV has a list price of $249. Both products are now shipping for the Macintosh.
