Tigar Hare Studios Announces Relationship with Chinese Studio

Tigar Hare Studios, a high-end visual effects and 3D animation boutique, has moved into a new 5,000-square-foot facility in Sherman Oaks, CA, and announced an affiliation with Shanghai Digital Studio in Shanghai, China and the establishment of a Flash Division in Malaysia..

With 20 workstations in the new facility, plus another 100 workstations and a real-time optical motion capture system at Shanghai Digital Studio, Tigar Hare's founders Michael Tigar and David Hare say they're ready to take on projects of all sizes and offer high-quality 3D animation at significantly lower costs for U.S. producers.

Recent projects at Tigar Hare Studios include the completion of over 50-effects shots for the film Driven, for client Track Form Productions, directed by Renny Harlin, and effects for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back for filmmaker Kevin Smith and Miramax. Tigar Hare is also currently producing 20-minutes of computer generated cut-scenes for the upcoming Spiderman videogame from Activision, and the CGI effects for four new upcoming TV commercials for the Max Steel toyline, for MATTEL.

Since its founding in l997, Tigar Hare Studios has contributed thousands of visual effects to feature films, broadcast television programs, commercials, special venue projects, computer and videogames, convergent media outlets, and Internet websites. The company has amassed an outstanding array of credits and industry awards for its work in these various media.

Formerly a digital effects supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks and Rhythm and Hues Studios, T/H founding partner Michael Tigar has worked on the visual effects of such feature films as Babe, James and the Giant Peach, Batman Returns, Contact, and Anaconda. Special venue and theme park attractions are also among his credits including ?EFX for the MGM Grand Hotel, ?Le Visionarium for EuroDisney, ?Seafari for MCA/Universal and ?The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera(Jetsons sequence) for MCA/Universal. In addition, he has worked on dozens of national and international commercials including the famous Coca Cola ?Polar Bear TV spots, Miller Beer and Reebok garnering an Emmy Award, two Clio Awards and a BDA Award for commercial excellence.

David Hare, former owner of Wild Hare Graphic Arts and founding partner of T/H Studios, is a Telly Award winner and has co-created an animated TV series called Boneracks Adventure Club starring Billy Idol as the voice of the villain character. Hare also served as a CG supervisor at KeyLight Studios and as a Creative Director and lead animator for An-Amaze-tion Studios in suburban Los Angeles. His credits include numerous commercials and network graphics packages for such prominent clients as Liberty Mutual, Fox Sports, Hyundai, RealTV, Sky London, Daimler Benz, and Chevrolet. Complementing his creative talents, Hare has an extensive background as a technician and system specialist in satellite communications for the U.S. Navy and Comsat Corp.
