Tie the Knot Mobile App and Responsive Web Site Makes Wedding Planning So Easy, Bridezilla Blowups Will Go the Way of the Dinosaur
(September 26, 2012)Tampa, Fla. (PRWEB) September 26, 2012
The stress of wedding planning can turn even the most starry-eyed couples into cranky beasts. But the newly released Tie the Knot App, available now for download in Apples iTunes Store or on the Tie the Knot App Responsive Web site, helps keep the pre-nuptial meltdowns at bay. Busy brides and grooms can stay organized, calm, and worry-free by managing all the details of their wedding and providing instant updates to their guests right from their iPhones.
We had a blast building this application for our client, Two Coast Ventures, said Jody Haneke, president of Haneke Design. Some of us remember how much work it was keeping our friends and family informed about things like registries, bachelor and bachelorette parties, photo shoots, and the hundreds of other details you have to manage before and after the wedding. The Tie the Knot App makes that process so much easier. Plus its highly interactive, so your guests can be a part of the excitement and events leading up to the wedding day from the moment you announce your engagement.
The Tie the Knot App features sections for guest lists, events, accommodations, and gift registries that can help guests plan their travel, select and ship gifts, and mark their calendars for wedding-related events. Brides and grooms can detail the history and milestones in their relationship in a section called Our Story, and post updates and photos of things like cake tastings, dress fittings, and house hunting experiences on their own blog. The blog invites comments so that friends and family can share their thoughts and feedback. A Wedding Songs section also encourages guests to post their favorite selections for the DJ to play at the wedding reception.
Couples can customize their application with their own color selections and themes ranging from traditional to modern. They can even upload their own cover image similar to a Facebook Timeline cover to further personalize their app.
Haneke Designs developers leveraged Ruby on Rails to rapidly build out the framework to rapidly develop the web application and web service, exposing all of the data. The iPhone app consumes the web service they exposed, and iOS used the keylime framework to speed the development of the iOS app and more easily interact with the Tie the Knot web service. In addition, the developers relied on Heroku to help quickly scale to meet demand once the app is activated and begins gaining momentum.
We couldnt be happier with the way the Tie the Knot app turned out, said Eric Larsen, co-founder of TwoCoast Ventures. Jody and his team translated our vision for the app into something that went beyond our dreams. We cant wait to share it with our friends, family, and all the happy couples who are planning the most important party of their lives.
