Thousands expected at Utah officer's funeralThousands expected at funeral services for Utah police officer killed in gunbattle
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) ' Thousands are expected to turn out for a funeral service honoring a Utah officer killed in a gunbattle that left five other officers and the suspect wounded.
Ogden police officer Jared Francom died after being shot Jan. 4 during a drug raid at a suspect's home.
The 37-year-old's funeral will be held Wednesday at the Dee Events Center on the campus of Weber State University in Ogden.
City officials plan a 90-minute procession to the Ogden City Cemetery, where Francom will be buried.
Weber County Attorney Dee Smith says he's preparing to charge Matthew David Stewart with aggravated murder, marijuana cultivation and attempted aggravated murder.
Smith says he'll to pursue the death penalty against the 37-year-old Army veteran who was shot by police.
