TheFind Mobile Adds TapBuy Deals and Shopping Cart Convenience Just in Time for the Holidays(December 13, 2011)
San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) December 13, 2011
TheFind Mobile, the popular in-store shopping companion app for iPhone and Android smartphones that combines barcode scanning and text search with online and local price comparison, today made mobile shopping even easier with new features for both of its mobile platforms.
On the iPhone, TheFind Mobile adds in a new Deals tab and automated checkout flow from TapBuy. By clicking on the tab, shoppers see special online and nearby deals via TapBuy that may be of interest to them. For people who have already set up a TapBuy account (which can be done from within TheFind Mobile), purchases are simple because TapBuy safely and securely auto-fills the checkout flow for many stores, making purchases from your mobile phone hassle-free.
The primary point of friction in mobile commerce is that entering a credit card number and shipping information onto a tiny screen is very cumbersome, said Ramneek Bhasin, VP & GM Mobile at TheFind. By integrating TapBuy, we remove this point of friction for merchants, and are able to bring new deal discovery elements into our app.
On larger screen Android phones, TheFind Mobile is now tightly integrated with TheFinds other popular shopping app, Catalogue. Leveraging the larger screen size, full page lifestyle and product images from hundreds of catalogs and weekly circulars found in Catalogue are now also accessible to users of TheFind Mobile for Android.
The most common use case consumers cited in asking for this functionality was that they frequently browse catalogs and shop from circulars at home, either a printed version or via TheFind's tablet app. But, when shopping at a local store, they frequently couldnt locate the item they were seeking, nor remember its description, much less its SKU number, said Bhasin. By adding catalogs and circulars to TheFind Shopping for Android, weve greatly enhanced the shopping experience. Consumers can now show a sales clerk the precise item they were seeking, from the exact catalog they were shopping from at home.
TheFind leverages patented product search, browse, and discovery technologies, along with data from Facebook's Open Graph, to build innovative online, tablet, and mobile shopping experiences. Ranked number 12 on the 2010 Inc. 500 list of fastest growing private companies, TheFind was founded in 2005 and is venture funded by Bain Capital Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Redpoint Ventures. TheFind is a San Francisco and Silicon Valley-based company.
