Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, May 09, 2012.
Wet weather will continue across the Northeast on Wednesday as Low pressure remains in place over the region and a cold front drops south from Canada. Showers and thunderstorms are anticipated along the front, with heavy rain possible, especially in the afternoon. The heaviest precipitation will likely fall from central New Jersey through coastal Maine.
Cooler temperatures will move in behind the front as skies gradually begin to clear up. The cooler temperatures will be more pronounced in the Mid-West, though clear skies will replace yesterday 's rainy weather for the upper Mid-West.
The Southwest will continue to see rain and clouds throughout parts of Texas and the Four Corners, but Texas will see a dramatic reduction of rainfall throughout the southern half of the state.
The Northern Rockies will continue to see warm temperatures as a ridge of high pressure stays in place over the region. To the west, an approaching trough of low pressure from the Pacific will bring cooler weather and some cloud cover to the Northwest and Northern California.
Central and Southern portions of California will see a less severe cooldown, but the coast will see dense morning fog. Portions of the state 's southern interior will see high temperatures rise even higher than Tuesday. Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday have ranged from a morning low of 19 degrees at West Yellowstone, Mont. to a high of 93 degrees at Edinburg, Texas.
