The Simpsons Make Their DVD Debut

On September 25, the longest running sitcom currently in primetime makes its DVD debut as Fox Home Entertainment announces the global release of The Simpsons Season One COllector's Edition DVD box set featuring every episode from the premiere season, which began
December 17, 1989.

The specially packaged, three-disc Simpsons DVD box set features all 13 episodes from the show's first season. It includes outtakes from an unaired version of the first 22-minute episode, and exclusive bonus features such as original scripts and audio commentaries by Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, writers, producers and animation directors. Also included are early sketches, foreign language clips, magazine covers and stills, Easter Eggs and "undisclosed surprises."

It will be available beginning September 25 for the suggested retail price of $39.98 US/$49.98 Canada ($29.95 MAP).

All of the first season episodes of The Simpsons are compiled on three dual-layered disks (full frame, aspect ratio 1.33:1). Each episode is presented with English 5.1, English Dolby Surround and French Dolby Surround Sound and English and Spanish subtitles. In addition, the following special features are exclusive to each specific disk:

-- Bart The Genius
-- Homer's Odyssey
-- There's No Disgrace Like Home
-- Bart The General
-- Moaning Lisa

Additional Bonus Features:

-- Original scripts featuring notes by Matt Groening for Bart The
Genius, Bart The General, and Moaning Lisa. All episodes are
accompanied by commentary.
