During Austins Grand Prix race weekend November 16 18, Sapphire Productions is pleased to announce the launch of The Sapphire Room Supper Club. Enter a world of intimate and sophisticated dining with the five-star New American cuisine of Chef Shawn Cirkiel at his signature Parkside, noted by Bon Appetit Magazine as one of the Hot 10 New American Taverns. Tantalize the taste buds with selections of fine spirits and chef-inspired wine pairings. Be swept away by the soulful, dusky sounds of The Voices Suzanna Choffel and other top-tier performers. Then finish off the night dancing to the rhythmic beats of celebrity DJ el john Selector formerly of Thievery Corporation.

The Sapphire Room Supper Club is an authentic supper club experience in the thick of the action in downtown Austin, yet comfortably ensconced in the charm and intimacy of Parkside restaurants upper dinning area, where The Sapphire Room Supper Club comes alive for the first time during Grand Prix race weekend Nov. 16 18, 2012. This marks the first return of F1 racing to the United States in five years and Austin is the home of this inaugural $400 million purpose-built track.

The Sapphire Room Supper Club tickets include a five-course meal, signature cocktails, a selection of wines and mesmerizing entertainment.

The Sapphire Room Supper Club will proudly showcase Austin native and singer-songwriter Suzanna Choffel whose recent performance of the Fleetwood Mac classic Landslide on NBC-TVs popular The Voice landed her a place on Blake Sheltons team. Since then Choffel has received an outpouring of praise from media and fans from around the world, including Rolling Stone who called her the most intriguing contestant on the show. Choffel, a smoky mix of indie-soul-pop claims influences as diverse as Erykah Badu and Edie Brickell, with echoes of Feist and Dusty Springfield. She is no stranger to accolades having already won two awards at The International Songwriting Competition held each year in Nashville.

Other Austin performers at The Sapphire Room Supper Club will include jazz, blues, rock and soul diva Tameca Jones known as the Tina Turner of jazz. Jones has opened for musical greats such as Smokey Robinson, David Sanborn and Oleta Adams and captivates audiences with her soulful vocals and groovy presence.

The Sapphire Room Supper Club is also proud to present Texas singer-songwriter Sara Overall who has written and performed hit songs for major motion pictures but her true love is being in front of a live audience where her astounding voice is perfectly showcased. Her latest album, Dandelion, is a mix of pop with an authentic 30s and 40s vibe. Performing with Overall will be international drummer Ramy Antoun who has previously played with the Black Eyed Peas, Seal, Pat Benatar and Paul Oakenfold, to name a few. He now runs his own successful artist development company, Creative Arts Group, in Austin.

Later in the evening the seduction continues with nationally renowned celebrity DJ el john Selector who mixes a modern international vibe intended to romance the listener and groove the dancer. el john began working with Thievery Corporation in 1999, eventually appearing on the 2002 release, Richest Man in Babylon and 2008s Radio Retaliation.

Taste buds will be seduced by Chef Shawn Cirkiels new American cuisine at Parkside, the prime venue for The Sapphire Room Supper Clubs first launch. Widely recognized as one of Austins most creative restaurateurs, Chef Cirkiel has been impressing area foodies and critics alike since the early 2000s, when he gained the honor of Austins youngest five-star chef from the Austin American Statesman. His training at the Culinary Institute of America provided Cirkiel a refined cooking style while further encouraging his obsession with seasonal, local ingredients.
