The Mill Orders Grain Management System From Digital VisionPurchases and installs a DVNR with AGR4 ME grain management system (October 18, 2005)
Digital Vision, a leading developer of advanced digital media applications specialising in film and video solutions, today announced that The Mill has purchased and installed a DVNR with AGR4 ME grain management system from the company.
The Mill, a world-leading visual effects company headquartered in London with a second facility in New York, has installed the system from Digital Vision following on from its investment in a new telecine. Roy Trosh, Technical Director of The Mill, adds, ?The best telecine needs to have the best grain management system and, after extensive testing, we believe the AGR4 ME to be the best.
The AGR4 ME is a film grain and electronic noise reducer aimed at film, videotape restoration and MPEG pre-processing. The AGR4 MEs advanced motion processing and adaptive 3-D filters, including a new Edge Preserving Spatio-Temporal filter and optional motion estimation, allow facilities to produce cleaner and sharper pictures from film and video originated material than ever before. The AGR4 ME can be used in a vast range of applications, from reducing the intensity of film grain while preserving its structure to wiping out noise on video material.
The Mill has already used their system for the preparation of a major UK TV series, as Seamus OKane, Colourist, explains, We used the DVNR to grain manage a 16mm telecine transfer for the series and we were very impressed with the results.
