The Birch Lodge and Boathouse Lodge Officially Open for Business at Church Landing of The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith, NH(June 21, 2012)
Meredith, NH (PRWEB) June 21, 2012
The Birch Lodge and the Boathouse Lodge at Church Landing at the Inns & Spa at Mill Falls have officially opened for business. The Lodges add 13 deluxe lake view rooms and suites in two new buildings connected to Church Landing by a covered cedar walkway.
Each of the rooms offer spectacular lake views and balconies. In addition, each room has a handcrafted, fieldstone fireplace, indoor whirlpool bath, wet bar, tile shower, and a bathroom LCD TV. The Lodges were built on either side of the Lake Shore Cottage on the South end of Church Landing. Construction began on September, 22, 2011.
We are so delighted to celebrate the grand opening of the Lodges at Church Landing, which completes our expansion project on the property, said Rusty McLear, president and CEO of The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls. I want to thank the architects, contractors, designers and landscapers who have worked tirelessly throughout the last year to create a visually beautiful addition to Church Landing, and kept the project ahead of schedule and under budget. We are confident that tourists and residents alike will enjoy the luxurious new accommodations just in time for the upcoming summer tourist season.
McLear held a ribbon cutting and open house celebration today marking the official opening of the buildings, including tours of the Lodges. Community and state officials were in attendance.
The 17,000-square-foot expansion also includes:
- A new lobby and game area
- A second indoor/outdoor pool with two jacuzzis
- An outdoor fire-pit
- A large sundeck with food and beverage service
- 186 feet of additional lake frontage
- New valet parking lot
Samyn-DElia Architects of Ashland headed up the design, and Conneston Construction, Inc. (CCI) of Gilford handled the general contracting duties. Pat Sava Designs of Waterville Valley coordinated the interior, decorating the rooms with dark wood in the Adirondack style.
The new billiard/game room will be named the Golden Pond Room and will feature the backdrop from the set of Ernest Thompsons play produced in Holderness last summer. McLear purchased the artwork, created by local artist Stephen Hodecker.
The architectural design of the Lodges celebrates the traditional exterior details of a New Hampshire lake hotel while incorporating luxury appointments inside along with the unseen elements of energy efficient building design, said Ward DElia of Samyn-DElia Architects. Cedar covered walkways will connect all buildings with each other. We used rustic unfinished tree logs and branches for the inside of the covered walkway which we believe reinforces the traditional New Hampshire lakeside experience.
Added DElia, The shingle style of the new expansion evokes images of cozy lake houses and lazy days on the water which is Rustys vision for this property. With balconies and plenty of energy efficient windows affording views of the lake and mountains, visitors will find it easy to relax and enjoy.
The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls in Meredith, in conjunction with CCI and Samyn-DElia Architects took on the Made in America Challenge with the construction of the Lodges. The Made in America Challenge, an initiative of ABC-TVs World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, is based on the simple concept of buying products that are made in America and help put Americans back to work. The Lodges expansion project is 95% American made.
We are so excited to showcase our new accommodations at the Lodges to our new and regular guests, said Gail Batstone, General Manager of The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls. These new rooms and suites offer unparalled access to the lake, including private beachfront. For us, its about providing exceptional accommodations with unforgettable customer service and attention to our guests experience.
The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls recently completed renovating the carport at Church Landing to accommodate more event space, including additional breakout rooms, vendor space and dining areas. The new facility, called The Carriage House added 1,700 additional square feet of meeting space and an expanded lobby area of 955 square feet, with fourteen-foot ceilings. The new facility offers expansive views of Lake Winnipesaukee.
This past March, The Inns & Spa at Mill Falls launched free and customized iPhone & Android mobile applications allowing guests to help manage their stay, easily find their way around the property, and get quick answers right from their mobile device. They can immediately see images and video, learn about all the hotel amenities and how to access them, and discover the area with an interactive map providing the location of all the nearest restaurants, bars, shops, cultural venues, and attractions.
