Televisión Española Orders Harris Corporation Equipment To Manage Its Broadcast Newsroom(February 13, 2007)
DMN Newswire--2007-2-13--Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, announced that Televisión Española (TVE), Spain's national television station, has purchased Harris broadcast equipment to manage its newsroom facility in Madrid.
TVE ordered the Harris® H-Class Digital Asset Management solution and Harris® H-Class ADC Playout Automation system, as well as the Harris® H-Class Intelligent Media Mover application, which provides workflow management solutions.
A core application in the H-Class Content Delivery Platform, the H-Class Digital Asset Management solution will form part of the new newsroom operations at TVE, with more than 200 journalist workstations networked on the system. The ADC Playout Automation system will interface with the Avid® iNEWS® Newsroom Computer System (NRCS). The ADC Playout Automation system is MOS-compliant, allowing for closer integration with the NRCS and other devices.
"This significant order reconfirms that our H-Class Digital Asset Management solution is completely scalable, and will simplify the complex content management and integration needs of broadcasters such as TVE," said Dave Dougall, vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa for the Harris Broadcast Communications Division. "The H-Class Digital Asset Management system is based on open metadata standards so that other sub-systems can be readily interconnected to implement a complete digital asset management system. This system is simple to understand and use, and driven by the business imperatives of the broadcaster, not limited by its technologies."
The sale at TVE was handled by the Harris distributor in Spain, Iberica de Componentes, and the integration will be conducted by Telefonica Systema Audiovisual (TSA).
