Telecast Fiber Systems To Highlight Teleport CWDM at IBC

To also show CopperHead DV series, Python II, Rattler, and SCAMP (SMPTE Cable Amplifier) (June 30, 2005)

Telecast Fiber Systems will be highlighting their new Teleport CWDM (coarse wavelength division multiplexing) wavelength manager at the upcoming ICB2005. The company will also be showing their new CopperHead DV series, Python II, Rattler, and SCAMP (SMPTE Cable Amplifier).

New Products at IBC2005:
Teleport CWDM

Telecast's focus for IBC2005 will be on its new Teleport CWDM (coarse wavelength division multiplexing) wavelength manager. By integrating the Teleport, Telecast's products will provide easy high-bandwidth multiplexing for as many as 32 digital signals on just two single-mode fibers. The Teleport also eliminates the need for wavelength-specific spares, since any transport device in the 1300-nm and 1550-nm wavelength windows can be plugged into any channel of the unit.

CopperHead DV Series
Camera-Mounted Fiber Optic Link With Signal Processing From Miranda
Telecast's new CopperHead DV400 is making its European debut at IBC2005. The DV400 allows ENG crews to create pristine SDI signals directly from Sony IMX, SX, and Digi Beta cameras, and then link those cameras to digital microwave and satellite trucks via tactical fiber optic cable. The CopperHead DV400 enables a true digital path from the camera all the way to the station. The fiber optic link incorporates serialization capabilities from industry-leader Miranda Technologies into a compact camera-mounted adaptor that connects directly between the camera and its battery. The high-definition CopperHead DV500 system employs a 50-pin connector to mate with Sony HDCAM camcorders, providing the functionality of the HDCA-901 camera adaptor, plus much more.

Python II
HD/SDI Multiplexing Transport in Small 1-RU Enclosure
The Python II picks up where the Python I left off, with up to 16 channels of uncompressed HD transport on 16, or as few as one, single-mode optical fibers using integral CWDM optical multiplexing.

Mini HD/SDI Transceiver
Telecast's new Rattler is a miniature HD/SDI transmitter and receiver set that takes in coax cabling and outputs uncompressed signals onto fiber. The "HD/SDI problem solver in your pocket," the Rattler was first introduced at NAB2005 and has already been recognized by two of the industry's leading editorial awards. The Rattler devices are unique in that they are powered via standard USB cables from a readily available, inexpensive four-port USB hub.

SMPTE Cable Amplifier
The SCAMP is an optical repeater and power amplifier for SMPTE 311 hybrid cables and is installed in the middle of a cable run. The unit can function simply as an optical repeater, taking power from the SMPTE cable, or can be locally powered to boost electrical power as well. The SCAMP first premiered at NAB2005 and will be making its operational debut at IBC2005.
