TeleCon Expo Announced(August 13, 2001)

On Tuesday, October 23, 2001, Zachary Patterson, CIO, American Cancer Society will present the opening day keynote address titled, “Distance Equal to Zero.” Mr. Patterson will discuss the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) commitment to conferencing, making it a critical business tool by taking the distance factor of communicating and working together out of the equation. In this presentation, he will discuss why ACS saw a need for advanced conferencing technologies, the successful implementation of the various systems installed and how videoconferencing has increased the efficiency in ACS’ services and cut costs in reduced travel and travel time.
On the second day of the conference there will be two keynote speakers. The first will be Gary L. Yenser, VP, EDS Federal who will discuss “Enabling & Extending Your Enterprise with E-Learning,” beginning at 9:00 a.m. Mr. Yenser will provide insight on how e-learning has become more than an opportunity to increase the effectiveness of education and training services. Following Mr. Yenser at 9:45 a.m. will be Mr. Shunichiro Mishima, VP, Business Development, NTT DoCoMo-USA, who will focus his presentation on “3G: The Future of Wireless Collaboration.” This keynote session will explore the future of how 3G networks will support wireless collaboration in the workplace. Attendees will learn from the one of the leading service providers on how cell phones and PDAs will enhance collaboration, learning, business communications and commerce in the 21st century.
On Thursday, October 23, Andrew Davis, Managing Partner of Wainhouse Research, will moderate a Service Provider Roundtable Panel. This no-holds-barred session will feature Rich Shaw, Sales Center Vice President for AT&T; Paul Berberian, CEO of Raindance; Ken Hayward, CEO of VSPAN; Barry James Folsom, CEO of Placeware; and Jim Mayyasi, CEO, North America of Genesys
This group of industry leaders will go head-to-head on the conferencing and network topics of the day including the future of video, where wireless technology is going, the future of ISDN, the survival of conferencing service providers and much more.
The TeleCon 2001 Conference will consist of several forums including: Conferencing, Collaboration, e-learning, Streaming4Business, Next Generation Service Providers, Telemedicine and Wireless Technologies.

The Streaming4Business Forum is designed for attendees looking for clear answers about this evolving technology. Participants will learn how streaming technologies are transforming communication within the enterprise.
In the Next Generation Service Providers Forum, a panel of service providers and vendors will discuss the subject of enhanced IP services in today’s deregulated marketplace. Other presentations will also include virtual private networks (VPN), what they are and how to choose them. In the Telemedicine Forum experts will provide insight into telehealth technologies that have been deployed to meet a variety of healthcare education and services needs.
