Teen charged in Ohio Craigslist scheme writes dad

Letter: Ohio teen charged in Craigslist killings afraid family will be dead after prison term By The Associated Press

CLEVELAND (AP) ' An Ohio 16-year-old charged with murder in a deadly Craigslist robbery scheme believes God will keep him from a long incarceration.

Brogan Rafferty writes to his father that he worries many of his relatives will die before he gets out of prison. Rafferty's father has given a copy of the letter to The Plain Dealer ( ).

Authorities say the teenager had been involved in a scheme in which applicants answering a job ad were robbed, then killed. Three deaths are under investigation. Authorities say they also plan to charge 52-year-old Richard Beasley in the plot.

In the letter written last month, Rafferty says he's kept in solitary confinement and he spends time reading and exercising.

Rafferty doesn't address the charges against him but apologizes for putting his father "in this position."
