Technicolor Acquires Audio Post-Production Company

Technicolor is announced today the acquisition of Miles O' Fun, a Burbank, California-based audio post-production company.

Within Thomson's Digital Media Solutions activity, which provides technologies, products and services to the media and content industries to enable them to manage the digital transition of content broadcast and storage, Technicolor is the number one processor of motion pictures and the world's leading independent manufacturer and distributor of DVDs, CDs and Videocassettes.

Technicolor intends to leverage its strong relationships with content providers and Thomson's core expertise in digital media technologies to deliver an integrated offering of post-production services. It provides the creative community with the capability of keeping consistent control over the treatment in 35mm and high-resolution digital. This end-to-end offering integrates its technological expertise along the digital content preparation chain.

Miles O'Fun is focused on sound editorial services, primarily for the episodic television market. In the past eighteen months, the Technicolor Worldwide Content Services Group has added Hollywood-based Consolidated Film Industries and Complete Post, as well as Montreal, Canada-based Covitec to its own activities. Additionally, it has initiated international post-production facilities at existing locations in London and Rome. With the acquisition of Miles O' Fun, Technicolor complements its existing offer by acquiring additional expertise in audio post-production services.

This year, Miles O' Fun received two television Emmy Award(R) nominations for "Anne Frank: The Whole Story" and "Dune." They will contribute services to over 400 hours of network television programming in the coming broadcast season. "Judging Amy," "NYPD Blue" and "The Practice" are among the many episodic series under Miles O' Fun's supervision.
