TechSmith Rolls Out EnSharpen QuickTime Codec

Lossless codec designed for presentation professionals By Dave Nagel
TechSmith has released EnSharpen, a new QuickTime codec designed for multimedia presentations and animated content. It's available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows.

EnSharpen is a lossless codec based on the TechSmith Screen Capture Codec, which is used in the company's Camtasia Studio screen capture system for Windows. It's targeted toward professionals who create tutorials and other presentation material and is designed to provide high quality with small file sizes. TechSmith says that with the EnSharpen codec, a 280 MB screen recording can be compressed down to 1.8 MB. It can also be used with QuickTime Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and other applications that support third-party QuickTime codecs.

EnSharpen is available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and WIndows for $149 for a single-user license. For more information or to download a demo, visit
