Tandberg Television To Showcase Latest ATSC Products

National Tour to Provide First-Hand Demo of Equipment within Tandberg Television's Mobile Truck (August 21, 2001)
Tandberg Television today announced that it will embark on a multi-city national tour showcasing its ATSC and other broadcast products in a specially outfitted mobile vehicle leased for the occasion from Crawford Communications Inc. The tour officially begins August 22 in Tampa, Florida, with scheduled stops in Ft. Myers, Florida, and Jacksonville, Florida, before subsequently travelling throughout the southeast, East Coast, midwest, southwest and West Coast.

Premier systems integration provider Digital SystemTechnology, Inc. (DST) provided all systems integration work for the vehicle in preparation for the travelling demonstrations. Each stop will feature two sessions presented by Tandberg Television: one from 10a.m. until noon, and the second from 1-3 p.m. Each session will start with presentations that showcase ATSC high definition, standard definition and multichannel solutions, along with SNG and ENG mobile contribution applications. Demonstrations and further discussions of Tandberg Television system solutions inside the vehicle will follow.

A special stop will be made October 23 and 24 at the Millenium Hotel in St.Louis, to coincide with the ATSC committee's standards seminar entitled "Charting the Future of DTV." For more information on that seminar, please visit

"With our new USA 'road show', Tandberg Television is attempting to showcase real ATSC solutions at the doorsteps of broadcasters throughout the country who are facing critical deadlines in the implementation of their digital technology solutions,' said Eric Cooney, VP and General Manager, Americas. "It's our goal to educate broadcasters on the many options available for employing ATSC solutions in their facilities, and we believe this hands-on approach will be welcomed by the engineers in the field. Additionally, those broadcasters attending one of our sessions and subsequently placing an order for equipment by December 31 will enjoy special price incentives for getting into the queue in plenty of time to meet May 2002 and May 2003 on-air deadlines."

Inside the mobile demonstration vehicle, Tandberg Television will showcase a variety of ATSC solutions, including affordable high definition and standard definition standalone and multichannel broadcast systems. These will feature Tandberg Television's E5821 HD encoder, E5411 SD encoder, and TT7020 multiplexer, along with the Triveni Digital Guidebuilder dynamic PSIP generation system. A robust STL interface, utilizing the TT6010 MediaLink and the TT6020 MediaLinkeX, will also be demonstrated along with both high definition and standard definition receiving equipment. In addition to these ATSC solutions, the TT4030 StreamTracker and TT4010 StreamProbe will be showcased in a remote transport stream monitoring application, and the latest digital ENG/SNG solutions, featuring the E5100 digital ENG encoder with OFDM modulation will also be shown.
