Talkshoe iPhone Ap

Maxwell Smart has nothing on this 'shoe By Ko Maruyama
Talkshoe introduces an application which will allow you to join in online conferences calls via your iPhone. This doesn't mean that you need an iPhone in order to listen in on Talkshoe sessions, but you don't need to be in front of your computer to do it.

At the time of writing, Apple hasn't released an SDK for the iPhone, but I'm sure that Talkshoe is a "shoe-in" for more approved applications.

Community Calling is kind of like a conference call.... on steroids.   The new application let's you tap into the community calling idea without having to be in front of your computer.    There are several similarities between having Talkshoe on your computer and on your iPhone of course.  You can join calls as a guest or a contributing member, and view calls that are coming up in the future.

What's nice about having the iPhone App is that you can receive emails or SMS to let you know when the important calls are coming up.  Naturally, anyone with an internet phone (skype / VoIP) can talk on their phone through, but the iPhone App is cleanly designed and easy to use.

I attended my first talkshoe meeting last weekend.  I can't say "to my surprise" - - because I didn't expect any less than a smooth experience.  As part of the PixelCorps/TWIT group, it's important that communication lines are open and constantly available.  There are anywhere from 10 - 50 members who might need to get on a communal call, with different levels of participation.

Talkshoe made my initial meeting go very smoothly.  The audio was exceptionally clear, and while I'm not sure whether Alex Lindsay was calling from his iPhone or not during this meeting, it wouldn't surprise me if he's hosting one from his iphone soon.

(You can also podcast from your phone with this!)
