TUV Rheinland Partners with the Wi-Fi Alliance

To become qualified test laboratory to perform Wi-Fi certification testing (August 12, 2004)

TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. a global leader in regulatory compliance testing and certification, has announced that it is working with the Wi-Fi Alliance to become a qualified test laboratory to perform Wi-Fi certification testing for the alliance members.

Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) allows the customer to connect to the internet from virtually anywhere there is a base station, such as home, office, airports, hotels, etc. without wires and the best thing about it is that is faster than a modem connection. Wi-Fi CERTIFIED products (with the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED logo) have been through rigorous interoperability testing requirements to ensure that compatible products from different vendors will work together. The Wi-Fi CERTIFIED logo means that it's a "safe" buy.

We are glad to work with the Wi-Fi Alliance to support the industry and the end-user simultaneously. Once qualified, we are looking forward to provide the testing services together with our other homologation programs," states Rolf Bienert, Telecom Divison Manager of TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc.

"The Wi-Fi Alliance is pleased to add TUV as an additional Wi-Fi certification laboratory," said Frank Hanzlik, Managing Director of the Wi-Fi Alliance. "We look forward to their very high level of service to meet the certification needs of the Wi-Fi Alliance membership," continued Hanzlik.

TUV and the Wi-Fi Alliance are pleased to announce that TUV has been listed on the approved certification laboratory list at www.Wi-Fi.org to provide Wi-Fi testing and certification services to its members. To schedule an appointment, please click here.
