TI DLP Projectors and TVs Chosen for Academy Awards PresentationFourteen DLP technology-based projectors from BARCO and Digital Projection (March 06, 2006)
Texas Instruments announced its award-winning DLP technology has been once again exclusively chosen as the projection technology at the 78th Annual Academy Awards. This marks the seventh consecutive year that DLP technology has lit up the screens at the world's most famous awards ceremony.
Fourteen DLP technology-based projectors from BARCO and Digital Projection will be featured at the Oscar(R) ceremony to deliver clear, bright, stunning images to screens across the Kodak Theatre. Six BARCO XLM-25 projectors will be used to deliver images through both front and rear-projection applications to the "Best Picture" and "Cinemascope" screens, and a total of eight Digital Projection 28SX projectors will be used for the "Movie Palace" screen, two rolling screens, and the house screens in the Opera boxes.
DLP technology is known for delivering clear, bright images rich in color and contrast, to a variety of display applications. It is the only technology delivering stunning images to the widest range of applications: from sub-1 pound projectors, to large-screen HDTVs, to professional venues and 70-foot movie theatre screens.
