TFI Envision Donates Power Macs to New Youth Center(September 29, 2011)
Stamford, CT, September 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- “For children, the stress of homelessness can inflict long-term emotional and academic tolls if efforts to boost self-esteem are not thorough enough,” said Jason T. Shaplen, CEO of St. Luke’s LifeWorks.
In an effort to address this issue, St. Luke’s LifeWorks has just opened their new Youth Center designed specifically for the children and teenagers living in the St. Luke’s LifeWorks facilities. According to the CT Commission to End Homelessness, "it is estimated that over 4,000 people experience homelessness everyday in Connecticut. Every night, 2,000 people, including 400 children spend the night in emergency housing."
TFI Envision, Inc., the Norwalk, CT based award-winning design firm, has donated two Power Mac G5 computers to be used by the children and teenagers at the new Youth Center. “When we heard that the Youth Center would have PCs, we thought it would be important for them to have Macs so they could explore the differences and similarities between the two. For creative work, Mac is our product of choice,” said Elizabeth P. Ball, President / Creative Director of TFI Envision, Inc.
The mission of St. Luke’s LifeWorks is to break the cycle of homelessness by helping people achieve — and maintain — permanent housing and stability in their lives. TFI Envision has been a long time supporter of their efforts by providing supplies, collecting toys for their Holiday Gift Collection, sponsoring events and facilitating donations from various clients of TFI Envision.
