T-System and Iatric Systems Formalize Partnership to Help Hospitals Interface ED and EHR SystemsNew Service Offering Upholds Software Selection That Most Efficiently Supports Both Specialty and Inpatient Care Settings (November 29, 2011)
DALLAS, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 11/29/11 -- T-System, Inc., the industry leader in clinical, business and IT solutions for emergency medicine, announced today that it has formalized a partnership with Iatric Systems, Inc., a MEDITECH service provider for more than 20 years. The expanded partnership will make it easier for hospitals and health systems to interface the T SystemEV® emergency department (ED) information system with enterprise electronic health record (EHR) software and accelerate the time to deploy those interfaces.
Under the agreement, T-System and Iatric Systems will provide services to medical facilities that would like to interface T SystemEV with another healthcare IT vendor. Of T-System's 1,700 hospital clients, approximately 30 percent employ MEDITECH as their enterprise solution vendor.
"Iatric Systems is recognized for their interfacing expertise for linking best-of-breed solutions with enterprise EHRs from multiple vendors, including MEDITECH. They are the ideal partner that mirrors our vision of enabling seamless data exchange across the care continuum," said Mark Horner, T-System's vice president of client services. "Our formalized alliance encourages hospitals to select the best ED solution possible, and to not be forced into the flawed 'one solution fits all' mentality."
The agreement allows hospitals to purchase these services without having to contract and negotiate with multiple vendors. The agreement also includes a volume discount with Iatric Systems, so hospitals receive a much lower price than what they would be able to negotiate by themselves. Among the benefits that providers can expect are greater flexibility and integration to disparate systems at a faster pace compared to the schedules and project commitments of enterprise EHR vendors.
"Our expanded partnership is good news for hospitals who want to exchange T-System ED patient data with another hospital information system," said Iatric Systems President Joel Berman. "With data flowing transparently, hospitals will save time and reduce the risk of errors throughout the continuum of care."
