Syflex Updates Maya Soft Cloth Simulator

Version 2.0 adds SDK support for customizing forces By Dave Nagel
Syflex has released Syflex 2.0, an update to the company's soft-cloth simulator for Maya. The new version 2.0 is available now for Mac OS X, Irix, Windows and Linux.

Syflex 2.0 includes a new SDK that allows users to write their own plugins that can incorporate custom forces. Other new features include blend simulations (in specified areas of the cloth); ability to edit individual frames of the simulation; Ability to paint stiffness and mass directly onto cloth using Artisan; and the ability to apply local forces.

Syflex 2.0 supports Maya 4.0 and 4.5. Syflex uses node-locked licenses on Mac OS X and floating network licenses on Irix, Windows and Linux. A full license runs $2,200. For more information, visit
