Summations resume in Rutgers webcam spying trialSummations resume in Rutgers webcam spying trial after long break for sick lawyer
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) ' Summations have resumed after an unexpected break in the trial of a former Rutgers University student accused of using a webcam to spy on his roommate's intimate encounter with another man.
Defense lawyer Steven Altman was about an hour into his closing argument Tuesday morning when he asked the judge for a break. It turned out he was ill.
But Altman returned three hours later to continue his summation.
His client, Dharun Ravi (dah-ROON' RAH'-vee) is charged with 15 criminal counts, including invasion of privacy and bias intimidation.
Ravi's roommate, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide days after the alleged spying in September 2010.
Jury deliberations are expected to begin by Wednesday.
