StudioA to Feature Other World Computing's Audio OfferingsMusic Guru Roger Adler opens studio to record artists, offer lessons and showcase latest technology (August 11, 2005)
Emmy-nominated musician and Other World Computing music guru Roger Adler has moved into a new studio in Crystal Lake, Ill., that is part work and part play. Musicians can record their latest tracks, aspiring performers can take lessons and tinkerers can test before they buy. Adler also will record his podcast "Rock your computer" at the studio.
"This is so exciting for me," Adler said. "I'm in a beautiful new facility and, through my partnership with Other World Computing, I am able to let locals try before they buy -- a real benefit when you're looking to make a significant investment."
OWC customers can make appointments with Adler by e-mailing email@example.com to see the newest audio equipment in use as well as try it themselves.
StudioA is part of the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake, Ill. StudioA was one of the first tenants in what had been known as the Dole Mansion/Lakeside Center. Some of its neighbors include a graphic design studio, an art school, the McHenry County Youth Orchestra, a purse designer, a pottery studio, etc.
The studio operates in several recording formats including Pro Tools, Pro Tools M-Powered, Reason, Ableton Live, Mastering and multichannel remote recording.
Featured products will rotate but include speakers, amps, plug-ins, drives and processor upgrades. Software to maximize these instruments also will be on display. Adler will have open houses from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday in August.
"This is very exciting for us at OWC," said Larry O¹Connor, president of OWC. "This is a year-round opportunity for some of our customers to test drive equipment before they buy from us. Until now, we could only offer this opportunity to people visiting us at MacWorld in San Francisco, a once-a-year event.
