StillSecure Provides Zero-Day Attack Mitigation SolutionEnhancement Protects Commercial and Federal NAC Customers From Zero-Day Attacks Aimed at Critical Files (January 10, 2012)
SUPERIOR, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/10/12 -- StillSecure, a leading managed security services provider and certified compliance company, today announced an upgrade to its award-winning NAC solution, Safe Access. This new version introduces Persistent Zero-day Attack Mitigation functionality for both commercial and federal customers.
Safe Access' Persistent Zero-day Attack Mitigation capability provides organizations with an added layer of defense against Zero-day attacks. Used in conjunction with any organization's anti-virus / anti-malware solution, Safe Access can help quickly identify a compromised device and remove it from the network. Zero-day attacks often target critical files on endpoints to attack and subsequently compromise the device. By exploiting these critical points, hackers can gain complete control of a victim's computer and then instantly spread across an internal network to compromise confidential data and digital assets. These compromises can occur well before any typical security product detects them, and they can go undetected for long periods of time.
Safe Access' Zero-day Attack Mitigation allows organizations to monitor any application or file and, if a change is detected, subsequently quarantine the compromised device. Safe Access comes pre-populated with critical files to monitor for the Windows operating system with OS X coming later in first quarter 2012. Safe Access will either notify administrators when changes to those files are detected, automatically quarantine the endpoint to prevent further infection, or both. Safe Access can check these files as part of the initial network connect and/or on an on-going basis.
"IT managers need more centralized security tools at their disposal to quickly and easily identify attacks in progress," said James Brown, Chief Technology Officer for StillSecure. "Zero-day vulnerabilities can quickly become some of the most aggressive and costly attacks on an organization. Once a hacker compromises a workstation, they can quickly spread into a network and then a full stream of cyber forensics will need to occur. With the enhancements to Safe Access, administrators can monitor every endpoint on their organization's network to ensure that nothing has been compromised and that a company's most critical data remains protected."
Safe Access with Zero-Day Attack Mitigation is available immediately for Windows, with OS X compatibility starting later in the first quarter of 2012.
About Safe Access
Safe Access is a certified NAC solution that stops unauthorized access, prevents malicious endpoint activity, and enforces an organization's security policies. Also, Safe Access is the NAC solution of choice for the world's largest and most demanding NAC deployment with the Department of Defense (over 700,000 end users).
