Stevens Institute of Technology Launches Android App(May 25, 2011)

Now available for download, the free Stevens App gives Android users access to the latest news, sports schedules, weather, campus maps, photos, videos and more.
Current students, faculty and staff members, as well as alumni, parents and prospective students can connect to Stevens via the app. Currently, more than 3.73 % of all non-Stevens IP sites come from mobile devices including the Android and iPhone.
The Stevens iPhone and iPad App launched last May and has been downloaded by 2517 iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users in 25 countries who stay connected to and find out what is happening at the University via this technology.
"So far more than 2500 Apple users have been able to access Stevens news and share it on mobile devices. The Android app is an extension of our services for the Stevens community," says Michael Schinelli, AVP for Marketing and Communications. "This App streams real-time information from sites across our University. After you download the app, connect with us on Facebook, become a fan, and tell us what you think of the app and any additional functionality you'd like to see."
Stevens social media presence has seen dramatic increases over the last year with the University Facebook page reaching almost 4600 members. Close to 500 people follow the Stevens Twitter account and YouTube traffic is up with more than 14,600 channel views and 58,500 upload views.
