Stargate Digital Appoints Mark Spatny Supervising Producer

Spatny will be managing the producers and coordinators at Stargate?s Los Angeles facility (June 01, 2005)

Stargate Digital has appointed Mark Spatny to the position of Supervising Producer. In this capacity, Mark will be managing the producers and coordinators at Stargates Los Angeles facility, and helping coordinate schedules and staffing company-wide. He will also continue to work on select projects as a visual effects supervisor. Marks recent work for Stargate includes supervising the effects for the pilots The Book of Daniel and Amy Coyne, and producing for the FOX feature Idiocracy. Mark is also working closely with Indian director Anubhav Sinha on visual effects for the eagerly anticipated Bollywood film Dus.

Prior to working at Stargate, Mark worked as a producer and digital effects supervisor at Modern Videofilm, on high-profile feature films such as I, Robot, The Last Samurai, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, as well as episodic series for the WB network including Everwood, Gilmore Girls, Birds of Prey, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. At POP Film, Mark was the Production Manager for their Oscar-winning work on What Dreams May Come, in addition to Armageddon, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Dr. Dolittle.

Formal training as a set and lighting designer for live theater, and a background in designing computer games, gives Mark a creative flair that perfectly compliments his ability to organize and manage complex projects. Outside of the realm of visual effects, Mark puts his organizational skills to the test helping his local American Red Cross chapter plan and execute disaster relief operations. Mark is also a published photographer.

?Mark's wide range of experience in both production issues and in client relations make this an ideal move, said Stargates President and COO Peter Ware.
