Spkeazy Announces Launch of The Spkeazy Market; Earn Deals By Rating Nightlife Venues(September 18, 2011)
Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 18, 2011
Spkeazy is a new app whose namesake ironically marked the unknown bar scene of the past. Perhaps fittingly, Spkeazy now stands to revolutionize the bar and club scene of the future, in the most literal sense.
Applications utilizing social-based information sharing have quickly become the way to grow. As crowd-sourcing vehicles like Facebook continue to log over 700 billion minutes of use per month, according to Facebooks company statistics page*, the opportunity for expanding business is overwhelming. Boston University graduate, Tunde Agboola's, launch of the Spkeazy app is a component of that growth. With the May 2010 launch of Spkeazy, a free, location-based nightlife app for the iPhone and Android platforms, users have a means of mingling like never before.
Spkeazy lets you follow your friends by density (numbers) and by distance but we wanted the application to paint an even better picture of the nightlife scene, said Agboola. We want our users to be able to freely share and receive information that can enhance their view of the night, and we want to reward those who share the most.
Those rewards come in the form of SPK Points (earned by rating venues), which will soon be redeemable for deals at venues when the Spkeazy Market launches at the end of September. The team behind the app will be holding a promotional contest called the Spkeazy Challenge as they approach the launch of the Spkeazy Market. The contest runs from September 15th to September 29th and it offers a $100 tab at any venue listed on the app to the user who earns the most SPK points.
Spkeazy gives you access to a sort of telepathy amongst the nightlife community in your city. You and your friends can now easily share what bars, clubs, lounges, or restaurants you are attending and your opinions on what those venues are currently like. Spkeazy users simply rate the line length, capacity, and atmosphere at a venue on a 1 to 5 scale, and the application groups each rating to reflect the crowds opinion on a venues current environment. You can view information shared by just your friends, or information shared by all users. Venues are also given the opportunity to share their events and theme nights on the Whats Hot section of the app. To learn more about Spkeazy, visit http://www.spkeazy.com.
