Special Learning, Inc. Announces its Lineup of Live Autism Training Webcasts for March, 2012

  (March 22, 2012)

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 22, 2012

Special Learning, Inc., a comprehensive Autism solutions company, announced today that it is hosting three, 120-minute back-to-back live webcasts that will be broadcast on March 29, 2012 beginning at 9 am (EST). Topics to be presented include Strategies to Increase Beginner Classroom Participation Skills: Teaching Methods in Application, Decreasing Problem Behavior With an FBA: Part 2 - The Intervention and Behavior Support Plan, and Interpreting Graphs for Behavior Analysts. These content rich webcasts are designed to impart valuable information to providers, educators, and parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and will be broadcast individually in separate time slots.

The first webcast of the day will be in the series Strategies to Increase Beginner Classroom Participation Skills and will be focusing on Teaching Methods in Application. This 120-minute discussion will explore common teaching methods used in treatment to develop new behavior, the roots of each method, and how to analyze which method may be the best to apply with your child. This webcast will be presented by Ms. Michele LaMarche, BCBA.

The 120-minute live webcast on Decreasing Problem Behavior With an FBA: Part 2 - The Intervention and Behavior Support Plan is a continuation of the webinar Decreasing Problem Behavior with an FBA: Part 1- The Assessment that took place last month, February 2012. This webinar will provide an overview on functionally appropriate behavioral interventions designed to reduce challenging behavior. Using literature reviews and successful practice in real world applications, the webinar aims to identify appropriate antecedent and consequent interventions. It will map out ways to develop a thorough behavior support plan, specifically the construction of an appropriate reinforcement schedule, functionally equivalent replacement behaviors, and preventive strategies. In addition, this hands-on session will help analyze the need for aversive strategies when reinforcement-based interventions alone are not effective for behavior reduction. The speakers for the webcast are Ms. Christine Austin, BCaBA and Ms. Michele LaMarche, BCBA.

The live webcast on the topic Creating and Interpreting Graphs for Behavior Analysts will provide an overview of the importance of visual analysis in the field of behavior analysis, discussing how and when to utilize different types of graphs, and provide practice creating graphs using Microsoft® Excel. This 120-minute webcast with Ms. Erin Lombard, BCBA, aims to review practices and methodologies designed for teachers, paraprofessionals, entry level BCaBAs and BCBAs, and other professionals providing behavior analytic treatment interested in data collection methods.

Special Learnings Live Webcast Training series is a monthly autism training program utilizing a live webinar format to deliver critical content to address the needs of parents and educators in the areas of Applied Behavior Analysis. Attendees of these webcasts are eligible for BCBA and BCaBA Continuing Education Credits, and will be provided 30-day free access to the recorded webinar after the live event.
