Speaking of Simplification... The ProntoPro

Each product or company I feature in this series, I believe, is making a significant contribution to simplifying ProAV technology. No, these products cant totally replace whats in the market today, but they might just live by that 80/20 rule. And, if I were them, I would certainly be happy with 80% of the market applications, wouldnt you?
OK, these products arent necessarily technological breakthroughs; technological wonders and some of them could even be considered ugly. But, they do have one thing in common: simplification.
Finally, it should also be mentioned that none of the companys products highlighted in this series are clients of Kayye Consulting, Inc.
Todays product: Philips ProntoPro
As I walked around CEDIA in September, I was on a mission. I wanted to see and understand the eventual impact of the Home Theater market on the ProAV market. I gathered research, made contacts and saw a ton of cool, home theater toys.
But, one, in particular, caught my eye. The Philips ProntoPro. I have seen the Pronto (the Pros black and white version) in Best Buy a time or two and never really paid much attention to it. But, the color version looked a lot more appealing and powerful, so I decided to stop and take a look.
Well, what I found surprised me and is worth mentioning.
