Southwest flight makes emergency landing in Texas

Unruly passenger forces Southwest Airlines flight to make emergency landing in Texas By The Associated Press

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) ' A man has been arrested after witnesses reported that he became unruly aboard a Southwest Airlines flight.

Amarillo Aviation Director Patrick Rhodes says the man became unruly and confronted the cabin crew. However, he said early information that the man had tried to break into the cockpit was untrue.

Southwest Airlines spokesman Brad Hawkins said the flight crew of Flight 3683 from Los Angeles to Kansas City decided on an unscheduled landing about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Amarillo as a precaution. He said the passenger was turned over to federal authorities for questioning.

Hawkins said none of the 136 passengers and five crew members was injured and the aircraft took off after a security sweep.
