SoundToys To Release PhaseMistress

Phase shifter offers analog modeling, full rhythmic control By Dave Nagel
SoundToys has released details of its forthcoming PhaseMistress, an analog-modeled phase shifter. The new tool offers support for Mac systems, HTDM, RTAS and AudioSuite and is expected to be available Dec. 10.

PhaseMistress is a phase shifter with analog modeling, including 60 phrasing models. Designed to achieve a classic analog sound, the software comes bundled with a variety of presets, including classic stompbox emulations. Its modulation modes include LFO, Rhythm, Envelope, Random, Step and ADSR. Envelopes can be locked to MIDI or added using a tap tempo or numerical BPM, and rates are adjustable in what SoundToys calls "musically meaningful units" (bars, triplets, fractional notes, etc.) It also offers full rhythmic control with adjustable shuffle-swing settings and adjustable mix, frequency, resonance and modulation.

Full system support indformation has not yet been released, though SoundToys says PhaseMistress supports AudioSuite, HTDM, RTAS and Mac systems. It will be available Dec. 10 for $249. For more information, visit
