Sony Expands Multi-Purpose Audio Mixer FamilySRP-X series targets corporate, educational and house of worship markets (November 01, 2004)
With the introduction of the SRP-X500P digital powered mixer, Sony Electronics has expanded its SRP multi-purpose audio mixer family to address a range of applications in the corporate meeting, educational and house-of-worship markets. The Sony A/V mixer family also includes the SRP-X100 and the SRP-X700P models.
?In-house presentation is one of the most rapidly growing markets in the pro audio/video field, and it has seen continued technological advancements, said Paul Foschino, senior manager for professional audio in Sony Electronics Broadcast and Production Systems Division. ?Sony has developed a product line that addresses virtually every segment of the industry. The SRP multi-purpose audio mixer family now includes three distinct configurations to address the full range of user applications. These cost-effective mixers are based on an efficient, user-friendly design developed to make their operation both simple and extremely flexible.
Planned to be available in February, the SRP-X500P mixer packs a host of sophisticated audio and video interconnectivity into its lightweight, compact 3U-size.
The digital powered mixer combines an extensive array of system control options to provide small to mid-sized conference rooms, corporate boardrooms, classrooms and houses of worship with exceptionally high-quality audio and video interconnectivity.
Flexible, expandable and configured with an easy-to-use front-panel layout, this all-in-one unit can facilitate operation of compatible Sony VCRs, DVD players, CD players, MiniDisc recorders and projectors.
Combining a potent mixer/router and four-channel digital power amp, with slots for two optional Sony wireless modular tuners, the unit can accept up to four microphone inputs and is capable of mixing wired and wireless microphones for A/V presentations. The digital mixer section also provides such important DSP functions as feedback reducer, EQ and delay.
Additional features include:
* High-quality digital sound processing with four-channel digital amplifier and independent feedback reduction processing for mic sources;
* Serial output for projector/flat-panel input selection control, and a parallel IO port;
* External RS-232C control port;
* Four speaker and four line outputs;
* One stereo line input;
* Five A/V source input selector (each with stereo audio); and
* 48 kHz 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion and internal 32-bit floating processing for high-quality audio.
The SRP-X500P mixer will have a suggested retail price of $1,700.
Introduced earlier this year, the SRP-X100 model represents a rugged and flexible analog mixing option for small offices, schools, or houses of worship.
Key features include a rear-panel ?separate switch that enables operators to split microphone and other A/V signals to specific speakers and a record output that permits content to be recorded to cassette, CD or a camera system.
The mixer provides nine stereo and monaural analog input channels with flexible routing to Master, Sub and Record outputs. Housed in a compact 1RU-size body, the units analog audio technology provides durable performance with high-input headroom, extended frequency response and low noise.
Additional SRP-X100 audio mixer features include:
* Two mono mic channels;
* +48 V power supply;
* Four switchable mono channels/mic lines;
* 30 dB headroom on mic inputs for simplified operation;
* L/R recorder bus output pre-master fader;
* Master L and R outputs switchable to mono outputs; and
* Two mono sub outputs.
It is currently available at a suggested list price of $675.
The Sony SRP-X700P digital powered mixer is an all-in-one solution capable of facilitating the most demanding presentation applications. This lightweight 3U-size A/V matrix switcher employs advanced digital technology and features Control-S ports that allow for remote operation of compatible Sony VCRs, DVD and CD players, MD recorders and projectors. A parallel output port provides external PC remote control capability for video screens, window curtains, projectors, lighting, and related devices. Its PC-controlled user interface and an RGB/video switcher help to increase audio and video quality.
It was designed to empower both the end-user and the sound contractor to be more creative with their AV/IT products. It has already proven itself extremely reliable over the course of countless corporate boardroom, conference room, lecture hall and house of worship installations.
The SRP-X700P digital powered mixer is available at a suggested list price of $2,700.
