Sony Announces New Sony Sound Series: Loops & Samples

(October 29, 2004)

Recognizing the broad popularity and increasing professional demand for music loops, samples and effects, Sony has restructured its Loops for ACID libraries into the new "Sony Sound Series: Loops & Samples" line. The new versions now feature three tiers: Premium Collection ($99.95, MSRP), Standards Collection ($59.95, MSRP) and Classics Collection ($29.95, MSRP).
The three new categories of loops and samples offer increased depth, flexibility and variety not only for the music creation and production community, but also for producers who need content for film scoring and audio sweetening.

"Our line of Sony Sound Series products has long been recognized as one of the finest in the industry," said Dave Chaimson, vice president of marketing for Sony Media Software. "With a collection that numbers more than 125 titles and provides content in an unprecedented diversity of genres and styles?all developed by the world's finest musicians and sound developers?we're continuing on an aggressive path to enhancing our already famous world-class anthology."

Optimized for use in Sony's ACID music creation programs, these collections of WAV files can be used in any PC or Macintosh® program that supports this format. Applications that recognize the ACID file format metadata will benefit from being able to use this information for time stretching and pitch shifting purposes as well.

"Musicians looking to take their productions to a new level will greatly benefit from the depth and breadth of these new collections," said Paul Foschino, senior manager of pro audio in Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Production Systems Division. "Their availability through our retail sales channel offers a perfect complement to our pro audio equipment and software and provides customers with endless music creation and production options."
