Softron Media Services Releases Update to OnTheAir VideoNew Special Priced Bundle Provides Additional Capabilities for Broadcasters (September 11, 2008)
DMN Newswire--2008-9-11--IBC-Booth 5-A09, Amsterdam, September11, 2008. Softron Media Services today announced immediate availability of an updated version of OnTheAir Video. This release of OnTheAir Video adds a new "Add Offline Clip" feature and adds Scheduling optimization with a new version of OnTheAir Tools.
Softron is now bundling OnTheAir Video with its Scheduling option for a special price of ?¬ 1750 ($ 2650) OnTheAir Video regularly sells for ?¬ 1295 ($ 1995) and the Scheduling option for ?¬ 895 ($ 1395) The bundled package represents a 20% discount over the normal price when sold separately.
OnTheAir Video is a Macintosh playlist based video playout server for use in broadcast, IPTV and event staging. It is in use at over 450 television stations that broadcast in either SD or HD formats throughout the world. OneTheAir Video is an open architectured Macintosh application supporting additional options for Scheduling, Logo/Text insertion, multiple video and multiple audio ? multi-lingual ? output. It is non-proprietary, using standard Macintosh computers and Video cards. It reads standard QuickTime Files directly exported from Final Cut Pro or any other Editing system able to provide a QuickTime or AVI File. Its playlists and schedules are in XML open format. This enables the integration of OnTheAir Video with all Traffic and Media Management system.
The new "Add Offline Clip" feature allows clips that are not yet available on your disk to be added to the OnTheAir Video playlist simply by indicating the duration of the expected clip. Upon playout, the refreshed playlist will playout the clip if available .
OnTheAir Video is AppleScriptable and has built in support for MIDI and GPI devices. It is compatible with multiple SD and HD video formats such as Uncompressed Standard and High Definition video as well as DV, DVCPro, DVC Pro-50, DVC Pro HD, Apple ProRes, Mpeg-2 IMX, MPEG-4, M-JPEG . OnTheAir Video provides a drag and drop interface for building playlists. Clips can be dragged directly from Final Cut Server in OnTheAir Video playlists. Clips can be edited to create shorter sub-clips either by splitting or trimming clips. Clip output size and screen position can be modified for the entire playlist or for individual clips in the playlist.
