Soap.com and Diapers.com Now Available on the iPhone

New Apps Make Errands Easier for On-the-Go Shoppers (April 20, 2011)

JERSEY CITY, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 04/20/11 -- Soap.com, a one-stop online shop for everyday essentials, and Diapers.com, the largest online baby care specialty site in the United States, are going mobile with today's launch of two innovative new iPhone apps. The free apps provide iPhone users the ultimate on-the-go access to Soap.com and Diapers.com, making it faster and easier than ever to get errands done anytime, anywhere. The groundbreaking apps are designed to bring the easy browsing and shopping experience of the full sites to mobile fingertips everywhere.

"Our customer base is made up of people who are both time-strapped and tech-savvy, which is why we've put a significant amount of time and effort into designing an app that gives them the same efficient, high-quality user experience they get on our sites," said Quidsi CEO and co-founder Marc Lore. "We know our customers are often thinking of the things they need while they're on the go, and now they're able to quickly and easily stock up on those products whenever and wherever they are."

Unique features of the Soap.com and Diapers.com apps include:

  • Offline functionality:
Completing errands while on the subway, in an airplane or anywhere else with spotty service is now possible. Existing Soap.com and Diapers.com customers can access and reorder their previously purchased items through the MyLists feature -- even without WiFi or 3G access. MyLists are stored locally, allowing customers to complete 95 percent of their purchase offline. Customers are then automatically prompted to complete their purchase when the iPhone regains service.

  • Scan to save and shop:
UPC code scanning functionality enables users to scan products running low at home and add them directly to their shopping carts. The mobile scanner can also be used to scan in-store barcodes to price compare or to instantly share product recommendations with friends.

  • Easy one cart checkout:
Orders can be placed directly from the iPhone with a few taps, making it possible to complete errands in under 30 seconds and while on the go. If users are not ready to buy, they can add items to their shopping cart and access later from any device. As always, no matter where customers shop from, all orders are delivered in 1-2 days.

The Soap.com and Diapers.com apps are available for free at http://www.soap.com/mobileapp and http://www.diapers.com/mobileapp and from the iPhone App Store. The app for Android devices and for BeautyBar.com will be launched in the spring.
