SnapCuts Announces the Launch of SnapCuts.comNew Social Video Marketing Platform Debuts Interactive Web Application (January 11, 2012)
LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 01/11/12 -- SnapCuts, the new social media marketing platform, announced the launch of its website (snapcuts.com) at CES today. The site marks the first product introduced by SnapCuts, which will also be launching a mobile application later this year. The site is currently in public beta.
SnapCuts.com brings social video messaging to a new level by allowing smart and easy mixing of professionally-edited clips and personalized text to create unique visual communication. The site's editing tool, "the Snapper," allows users to snap together and rearrange selected video clips, add personalized text and share the finished sequence -- a "snapcut."
On SnapCuts.com, a curated library of clips provides a unique opportunity for users to depart from typical video sharing, which often relies entirely on content produced by amateurs. The library contains clips from television, film, commercials and other sources, enabling the creation of visual messages that convey a mood, opinion or quick greeting through mixing media references with personal text.
"We have a particular aesthetic sensibility at SnapCuts," said company founder Bee Ottinger. "That's reflected in our clip selection, how they're organized, and the simplicity of the Snapper. Our philosophy is that everyone should be empowered to enjoy the fun and adventure of communicating with video. So we've made it very simple for users to mix and match pre-made clips with personal text messages and share their creation with their network, or even the world."
Ottinger is a world-renowned pioneer in editing and a champion of its democratization. Her innovations in modern video editing to music -- quick cuts, jump cuts, visual effects, nonlinear montage -- have now become the ubiquitous visual language used in commercials and music videos. Her style is familiar to all through MTV Networks and videos featuring Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, Cher, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez and many other artists, along with spots for Chrysler, Nike, Calvin Klein and Samsung, to name a few. Her vision to evolve electronic communication using video hits the global marketplace just as video's accessibility on mobile platforms and social networking is skyrocketing.
