Smoking and Sex First Challenge in Video Contest Series Aiming to Put the Edge Back Into Anti-Tobacco Education

A new series of video contests designed to put the edge back into anti-tobacco education was announced today on the YouTube Tobacco Sucks Contest Channel. The first video contest is called Smoking and Sex and contestants are tasked with developing a 60-second video highlighting the deleterious effects of smoking upon human sexual performance and response. The grand prize for this contest is an Apple iPhone 5.

According to Doctor Oz, smoking for men has been linked to erectile dysfunction, low testosterone levels and low sex drive. For women, smoking can change their hormone levels, cause menstrual cycle problems, make it harder to get pregnant and increase risk of miscarriage.

Smoking and Sex video contestants will research, write, shoot and submit a 60 second video dealing with these effects, and others, of smoking on sex. The videos can be funny, dramatic or outrageous whatever makes for the most compelling and engaging video possible. Anything is allowed except for profanity or nudity.

Entries are submitted simply by using the video reply button to upload contestants videos as replies to the Smoking and Sex video contest announcement video.

The contest video submission deadline is Midnight ET, March 15th, 2013. The top ten videos will be judged by a panel of successful producers, directors, agency heads and doctors to choose the grand prize winner. Its a chance for wide recognition of the creative efforts of contest participants.

The supporters of this contest are challenging American youth to create great video that entertains and educates while driving awareness of the always deadly and sometimes embarrassing aspects of tobacco use.
