Sitecore, agencyQ and CLASP Create Information Hub for Energy Efficiency Experts

CLASP Chooses Sitecore's Web Platform to Launch New Digital Strategy and Increase Website Traffic Globally (April 02, 2012)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/02/12 -- Sitecore today announced that CLASP (The Collaborative Labeling and Appliance Standards Program) implemented Sitecore's Web Content Management System (CMS) software to power its new website. The CLASP site is designed to enable knowledge sharing among a diverse, international audience of policymakers, experts in energy efficiency, and multi-government collaborations.

"The improved website provides enhanced information resources, leading to the application of best practices in appliance efficiency standards and labeling (S&L) worldwide," said James Termin, chief operating officer, CLASP.

In addition to its fresh appearance, CLASP's website has an improved structure to make technical information more accessible and provide more search functionality to help users navigate the website effectively. CLASP's Global S&L Database, the only resource of its kind for appliance, lighting and equipment S&L policies, was also redesigned with expanded functionality to provide users access to more specific, in-depth searchable information on current and in-development S&L policies worldwide.

CLASP worked with Sitecore partner agencyQ, a digital agency, to overhaul the information architecture for optimal usability, design an intuitive search interface to sift through a significant amount of complex policy data, and create a custom RSS aggregator to gather items in particular content sections into an RSS feed. Social networking, email marketing and Web analytics are also integrated with Sitecore's CMS.

Since launching the new website, CLASP has seen a significant increase in the number of new site visitors worldwide. Site visits from the US and Belgium have increased by 11 percent and 242 percent respectively. The new website is optimized for mobile browsing with a 30 percent increase in visits from users on a mobile device. Additionally, questions received through the Ask an Expert tool, in which S&L practitioners can receive technical and policy advice at no-cost, have tripled since the new site's launch in December 2011.
