Major enhancements in the 2012 releases include:
Improved Productivity with Performance
With the introduction of 64-bit support for Windows XP and Windows 7, users can now run very large models. In addition to all the calculation being done on 64-bit, this version takes full advantage of available memory and uses virtual memory to overcome the 2GB limit of the 32-bit version.
Extended Capabilities with New Functions
Sinda 2012 supports new micro functions to provide users with an easier way to define complex thermal loads. Users can extend this library by developing their own functions for increased power. Additionally, macro-functions can also be defined through a combination of other micro- and/or macro-functions, giving users both flexibility and power to extend their thermal solution capabilities.
Ease of Use with Patran
TFEA, which is a cost-effective package that includes Patran and Sinda, delivers significant benefits to users through extensive ease of use enhancements provided in the new Patran 2012. Updated menus, shortcuts and model navigation enhancements of Patran 2012 help users create and analyze their models faster. Several new features of Sinda are also supported by Patran, which include:
- Field heat flux as a function of time and location
- Field convection load with convection as a function of time and/or temperature and location
- Support for Thermica Version 4
- Thermal radiation now supports multiple enclosures and each enclosure can utilize a different view factor solver
- Thermal radiation enclosures can be run independent from one another and existing results can be reused in future analyses
