SignaSys Assists KIXE DTV Conversion

Migration to DTV allows KIXE to deliver multiple content services (January 17, 2005)

SignaSys, Inc. announced today its plans to team up with KIXE-TV, a PBS affiliate located in Redding, California to facilitate the controlled migration from analog to mixed analog and digital capabilities

The proposed system migration is to be achieved through a sequential implementation, which includes recommendations on approach, technology, practices and the products needed to fulfill KIXEs objectives. SignaSys faced the additional challenge of controlling the addition of digital components and the migration of existing system components from KIXEs legacy systems to a new integrated digital multicasting facility.

SignaSys Chief Technology Officer Mark Brown notes, ?SignaSys is pleased at the opportunity to assist KIXE in its mission to better serve its community. Transitioning to the digital broadcast environment are areas of technology that are of particular interest and strength to SignaSys.

KIXE Director of Engineering Brian Anderson adds, ?This system migration opens up many new possibilities for us. One aspect is the adoption of new operational paradigms, which allow KIXE to deliver multiple content services efficiently.
