Siam Film Development Purchases IMAGICA Film ScannerFirst sale of the new IMAGER XE-ADVANCED (March 02, 2005)
IMAGICA Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, announced today that Thailand-based Siam Film Development Co. Ltd. has purchased IMAGICA's newest digital film scanner, the IMAGER XE-ADVANCED. This is the first sale of the new scanner into Southeast Asia.
Founded in 1971, Siam Film Development Co. Ltd. is a leading film laboratory and post-production facility, offering negative and positive processing, printing, visual effects, editing, negative cutting, sound production, high resolution film scanning and film recording.
Vipada Bodhidatta, International Business Manager of Siam Film Development said, "We are pleased to add 16mm and 35mm scanning with the installation of the IMAGICA IMAGER XE-ADVANCED film scanner to compliment the wide range of film related services that we offer. We were impressed with both the scanning speed and the quality of the scans that we can achieve from the film scanner."

The IMAGER XE-ADVANCED scans 4096 pixels across a 35mm Academy frame and provides cineon format with full RGB color space (14bit A/D). The IMAGER XE-ADVANCED scans 2 seconds per frame for 2K down sampling and 4 seconds per frame for 4K original sampling with a new 5K- camera system.
IMAGICA scanners have been used on such films as The Aviator, Ocean's Twelve, Spider-Man 2, The Lord of the Rings Trilogies, Van Helsing, The Village, Finding Neverland, The Life Aquatic of Steve Zissou, The Passion of The Christ, America's Heart and Soul, National Treasure, and many others.
